The protection of the house of Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has been taken over by the police after enraged fans assaulted his Cheshire mansion. The attack, carried out by about 20 balaclava-clad supporters, involved fireworks, a smoke bomb, and the spray painting of his gates in protest against his management of the club since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.
