The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the resumption of foreign exchange provision to all commercial banks for the purpose of onward sales to parents for school fees and SMEs for essential imports. This move aims to revamp economic activities in the country amidst the gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown. The CBN has stated that it will be providing over US$100 million per week for both categories and has made arrangements to resume foreign exchange sales to the BDC segment of the market for business and personal travels, as well as other designated retail uses, once international flights resume. Second Case of Coronavirus Confirmed in Ebonyi State

The State Commissioner for Health, Umezurike Daniel, has confirmed that Ebonyi state has recorded its second case of Coronavirus.   On Wednesday April 29, Daniel announced that a 27-year-old man who had just returned to the state from Asaba, the Delta state capital with his seven months pregnant wife, tested positive for the virus.   The patient tested positive twice while his wife tested negative twice. They have been taken to the isolation centre. It was further learned that the index case of Coronavirus in the state is stable and in good condition.
