Watchdog Advises Russians: No Kissing or Hugging Due to Coronavirus
The country's consumer health watchdog has urged Russians to avoid traditional greetings such as handshakes, kisses, and hugs. They are also advised to wear medical masks in crowded public places.
Despite imposing border restrictions to prevent the spread of the virus from China, Russia has not yet confirmed any coronavirus cases. The state watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor, instructed Russian businesses employing Chinese nationals to extend their holidays if the employees are in China.
Additional recommendations to Russians include tying back long hair, refraining from touching public door knobs and banisters, and avoiding close contact with people exhibiting flu symptoms.
