Five Gombe lawmakers found to be positive for COVID-19

Five members of the Gombe state House of Assembly have tested positive for COVID-19. Today, June 8, Chairman of the state task force on COVID-19, Prof Idris Mohammed, revealed this while addressing the media on the state's efforts to combat the novel Coronavirus. According to Mohammed, the lawmakers, whose identities were not disclosed, have been admitted at different isolation centers in the state. The state currently has 217 confirmed cases of the viral disease.

A tragic incident unfolded as Oluwamayowa Adeyemi, a young Nigerian man also known as Samson, was fatally shot outside his home in Hackney over the weekend.   The 21-year-old Adeyemi met his untimely demise in Clapton, east London, on the night of June 5th.
