Following a clash between Okada riders and the police earlier today in Ijora, Lagos state, the Lagos state police command has arrested twenty suspects.   A statement by Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command, revealed that the police received a distress call regarding a group of individuals, suspected to be okada riders and thugs, armed with cutlasses, blocking major roads in areas including Ijora Oloye, Amusu, Ijora 7up, Ijora under bridge, Sifa junction, and Gaskiya gangare within Ijora Badia Division.   According to the statement, the hoodlums caused significant disruptions on the roads, including burning tires and looting from unsuspecting road users. There has been a discovery of a video featuring Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, where he discussed his government's intention to regulate the activities of Okada riders in the state.   The governor made these remarks at the Platform 2019, a religious program organized by the Covenant Christian Center every 1st of October.   During the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted that as part of measures to effectively reduce traffic congestion in the state, his government would "account for every Okada rider."  "To also solve the traffic issue of Lagos is also to talk about the okada issue; okada is everywhere, anywhere you see.
