An individual named Abubakar Namalika has been arrested by the Zamfara State Police Command in connection with the brutal killing of Dr. Enoch Okpara, a medical doctor in Gusau.   Dr. Okpara, a consultant Obstetrics/Gynaecologist at the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau, was discovered dead at his residence in the Mareri area of the state capital on Saturday, June 13. The massacre in Katsina community by Bandits claims 15 lives

A brutal attack by armed bandits has resulted in the death of fifteen individuals in Yar Gamji village of Batsari Local Government Area in Katsina state on Monday, July 6.   Confirmation of the attack was made by SP Gambo Isah, the spokesperson of the state police command. Isah stated that over 200 bandits, riding on motorcycles, launched the attack on the village at 10:00 am and started shooting indiscriminately, claiming the lives of 15 people.   According to Isa, the security forces operating in the area swiftly intervened, managing to repel the bandits before further harm could be inflicted.   Katsina state has been a recurrent target for attacks by armed bandits over the years.
