The Oluwo of Iwo’s account of the altercation with the Agbowu of Ogbagbaa
During a peace meeting aimed at resolving a land dispute among monarchs in the Iwo area, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, was accused of assaulting the Agbowu of Ogbagbaa, Oba Dhirulahi Akinropo. The incident occurred at the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 11 Bashir Makama, who had convened the meeting attended by other monarchs, senior police officers, and government officials.
In a statement posted on his Instagram page, Oba Akanbi claimed that he had acted in self-defense, as he alleged that the Agbowu of Ogbagbaa had initially attacked him during the meeting. Below is an excerpt from his post:
