Man jumps from Third Mainland Bridge into lagoon
The tragic incident today, February 15, saw a 22-year-old man, Daibo Toju Davies, plunging into the lagoon from the Third Mainland bridge in Lagos state. Davies, a resident of 17 Sosanya street in Soluyi area of Gbagada, hailed an Uber taxi from a hospital before the sad incident. He stopped the Uber halfway through the journey, feigning a running stomach before jumping into the lagoon.
Efforts have been intensified by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) to rescue Mr. Davies. According to Nosa Okunbor, the public affairs officer of LASEMA, the marine unit of the Lagos central zone has been searching for the victim since 11:30 am, but the body is yet to be found.
