Kenyan lawmaker found dead in his hotel room in India

An unfortunate incident has occurred as a Kenyan lawmaker, Cyrus Omondi, was discovered deceased in his hotel room in Mumbai, India. Rono Kosigi, the Liaison Officer at the Kenyan High Commission in India, confirmed the news. Omondi, a Member of the County Assembly of Kiambi, Kenya, was in India for a workshop with colleagues from the Education committee. Despite efforts to establish the cause of his death, preliminary reports suggest that he may have suffered a heart attack. Omondi, also known as Gearbox, gained recognition for winning a ward seat in Kiambu County after a closely contested election in 2017.

Troops intercept motorcyclist with 4,653 rounds of bullets disguised as a bag of rice in Zamfara

The interception of a motorcyclist with a bag containing disguised ammunition has been reported in Moriki, Zamfara State. The bag, which appeared to contain rice, actually held approximately 4653 x rods of 7.62mm (special) bullets. The incident occurred when military personnel received intelligence about arms being transported in the area. Following this tipoff, they established an emergency stop and search checkpoint, leading to the seizure of the bag of ammunition. Although the motorcyclist was able to evade capture, the bike and the bag of ammunition were confiscated. During the interception, the motorcyclist attempted to flee from routine checks, abandoning the bike and the bag of bullets in the process.
