EFCC vows to reopen investigation into alleged N100bn fraud involving Peter Odili
The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has announced the agency’s intention to reopen its probe into the alleged misappropriation of public funds amounting to N100 billion during the tenure of former Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili, from 1999 to 2007.
The antigraft agency had disclosed plans to investigate Odili in January 2007. However, the former governor obtained a perpetual injunction on March 23 of the same year, preventing the agency from pursuing the investigation.
