Police confirm killing of 7 people in Kaduna Market

The tragic killing of 7 people at the Maro village market, a border community between Kajuru and Kachia local government areas of Kaduna State, has been officially confirmed by the Kaduna State Police Command. According to Mohammed Jalige, the Kaduna Police Spokesperson, the attack was carried out by unknown gunmen in military uniform as traders were closing for the day. Additionally, Jalige mentioned that 5 individuals were injured during the incident. 31-Year-Old Defilement Accused Claims Marriage to 13-Year-Old Accuser in FCT Court

A chef, Innocent Etim, aged 31, standing trial at the FCT High Court, Nyanya over an alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl, claimed during the court session on Tuesday, February 11, that the said victim is now his wife.   Etim faced a two-count charge of rape but pleaded not guilty to the accusations.   As a witness in his defense, Etim informed the court that the girl he was accused of defiling has given birth to his child. "I have completed all the customary marriage rites to wed the girl. She gave birth to a baby boy on Oct. 18, 2019, and we also had a church dedication for the child. Cautions issued by NAFDAC – Refrain from cooking with paracetamol to avoid liver and kidney failure

The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has cautioned Nigerians against using paracetamol as a tenderiser while cooking meat and beans.   During a sensitisation programme for fast food operators and food vendors, Mrs. Roseline Ajayi, the NAFDAC coordinator in Kwara State, emphasized the dangers of using paracetamol to cook, stating that it can lead to kidney and liver failure.   Ajayi highlighted that paracetamol, which belongs to the class of drugs known as analgesic and anti-pyretics, is intended only for treating pain and fever.   She further explained;    “Using paracetamol to tenderize meat and beans while cooking may be seen as a cost-cutting measure, but it can have severe and unprecedented health implications, including liver and kidney fai...

The Sokoto State Scholarship Board (SSSB) Deputy Director, Mohammad Buhari Yusuf, has been brought before the State High Court in Sokoto by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for alleged forgery. He is facing charges for signing and issuing forged scholarship sponsorship letters to three students who used them to obtain entry Visas to the United Kingdom from the British High Commission in Abuja.
