The Federal Government has indicated its readiness to evacuate Nigerians in Wuhan province in China if the need arises amidst the ongoing Coronavirus epidemic. Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunibe Mamora, made this known during a press briefing on resolutions reached by the Ministers of Health of the Economic Community of West African States on regional preparedness and response to the ongoing Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic in Abuja. Tragic Death of Rotimi Amaechi’s Chief Security Officer in Kaduna

Rotimi Amaechi's Chief Security Officer has tragically passed away.   Mr. Tony Iwelu, the CSO to the Minister for Transportation, Mr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, lost his life due to an electric shock from a shower hose in his hotel room in Kaduna on Monday, February 17, 2020, at approximately 10:30 AM.   Iwelu had accompanied the Minister to Kaduna to attend Governor Nasiru Elrufai's birthday celebration when the tragic incident occurred.   An aide to the Minister confirmed the death on the condition of anonymity as no official statement has been issued, Daily Trust reports.

Supreme court adjourns Imo governorship case till March 2nd

The ending of the Imo governorship case has been postponed by the Supreme Court to March 2nd. The application for a review of the January 14th judgement, in which Emeka Ihedioha's governorship was terminated, was filed by the PDP and former Imo state governor. Kanu Agabi (SAN), counsel to the former governor, and the PDP sought an adjournment to conclude the processes being filed and served. Damian Dodo (SAN), counsel to Uzodinma and APC, did not oppose the application for adjournment. Ihedioha and the PDP had filed an application before the apex court, requesting the setting aside of its January 14th judgement, which nullified Ihedioha's March 9 election and declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election.
