Adherence to COVID-19 Guidelines: MURIC Urges Muslims not to prioritize Mosque attendance over safety
Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has cautioned Muslims against disregarding the prohibition of religious gatherings amidst the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
In a statement by the group's director Ishaq Akintola, Muslims in Nigeria were reminded to observe the limitations on public assemblies.
The organization, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia had canceled Jumu‘ah prayers and suspended Umrah for the first time ever, advised all followers against prioritizing their faith over the guidance of Prophet Muhammad.
MURIC stressed that Islam preaches moderation and discourages extremism, as excessive behavior is condemned according to the teachings of the religion.
