Shehu Sani refuses lie detector test, vows to swear on Quran in $24,000 extortion scandal
Shehu Sani, the former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, declined to take a lie detector test regarding the alleged extortion of $24,000 from Alhaji Sani Dauda, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ASD Motors.
Instead of the polygraph test, Sani expressed his preference to swear by the Holy Qur’an. It is speculated that he may undergo the polygraph test with his wife on January 7, after being moved from his detention cell to the Polygraph Clinic in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) annex in Wuse 2, Abuja.
The Nation reported his statement as follows;
“I won’t take the test; I do not trust the machine. I am not sure whether or not the machine is working well. Instead of polygraph, give me the Holy Qur’an to swear with.”
