Buhari suspends NBC DG, Modibbo Kawu

President Buhari has suspended the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Modibbo Kawu. The suspension comes as Kawu is currently facing prosecution by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) for alleged corruption. The development was confirmed by NBC's Director of Broadcast Monitoring, Armstrong Idachaba, who also mentioned that the most senior Director in the Commission has been directed to take over from the suspended DG. Kawu is facing 12-count charges related to abuse of office, money laundering, and misleading a public officer with the intent to defraud the federal government. A courageous woman from Nigeria has recounted her experience of saving the life of an accident victim, despite being told to abandon him with the excuse that "he is already dead and this is Lagos". Sharing her story as @Ennyy_Jewel, she described the incident that took place around 5:45 am on February 14 at Marina, Lagos. She also revealed that a Nigerian police van, which initially stopped after being signaled, left without offering any help. The victim, who appeared to be in his late 50s, managed to survive the accident despite sustaining a head injury. He was promptly rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Two young men, named Inusa and Ibrahim, recently competed in an election in Bauchi state to determine who would win the affections of a girl they both loved.   Reportedly, the girl, Khadijah, had requested the election, which was organized by the elders of Giade town in Bauchi State. In the end, Inusa secured the highest number of votes, defeating his rival, Ibrahim.    The Twitter user @Mubarack_Umar shared the following insight;   Khadija has fallen in love with 2 boys but couldn't choose between them, and none of the boys were willing to accept defeat.  A Catholic Priest serving at the Uromi Diocese, Father Nicholas Oboh, and four children have been abducted by gunmen in Benin City, Edo state capital.
