2019: Sadio Mane Named CAF African Player of the Year

          Sadio Mane, the Senegalese footballer, has been honored as the 2019 African Player of the Year. The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi, reportedly came under attack by Boko Haram insurgents on Monday, January 6. The incident occurred around 7:20 pm while he was returning to Maiduguri after visiting troops deployed to Jakana in Konduga Local Government Area of the state. According to an anonymous source speaking to Channels Television, while returning to Maiduguri from Jakana, they suddenly encountered gunfire.
