Chimamanda Adichie, the renowned Nigerian writer, hosted Kenyan-born Hollywood actress, Lupita Nyong'o in Lagos on February 22.   The private reception, held in honor of Lupita Nyong'o, was graced by several Nigerian celebrities including D'banj, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Omawumi, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Toolz, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Ebuka, Flavour, Bovi, and many others.   This event preceded the screening of Americanah, an upcoming drama miniseries by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, in which Lupita Nyong’o portrays a role. During Leicester City's 1-0 defeat on Saturday, Kelechi Iheanacho was knocked down by Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson, five minutes before half-time as they both vied for the ball.   While attempting to head home James Maddison’s pass, Iheanacho was struck in the face by Ederson, resulting in Leicester's penalty appeal. However, only a corner was awarded. Death of Nigerian Footballer Tiyamu Kazeem Confirmed by Police; Officer Involved to be Arrested

At Sultan Bello Mosque in Sokoto on Friday February 21, a 71-year-old man named Malam Ahmad Abdullahi passed away while observing the weekly Juma’at prayers along with other worshippers. Nigerians Express Outrage Over the Alleged Killing of Remo Stars Player Tiyamu ‘Kaka’ Kazeem by SARS Operative

Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) assistant captain, Tiyamu 'Kaka' Kazeem, was allegedly killed by a policeman from the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) from the Ogun State Command on Saturday.   Kazeem, a defender, was with his teammate, Sanni Abubakar, on their way to Sagamu after training in Abeokuta on Saturday afternoon when they encountered SARS operatives.
