The World Health Organization (WHO) has refuted the misconception that the coronavirus is airborne and can linger in the air for up to 8 hours. This international health agency clarified through a tweet that the virus is mainly transmitted through droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. These droplets are too heavy to remain in the air and instead fall quickly onto surfaces and the floor.
