Nigeria made $104 million from film and music in 2019 – Lai Mohammed
The Minister of Information and Culture, Laim Mohammed, has revealed that Nigeria earned $104 million from the creative industry in 2019. During a visit to the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation’s headquarters in Abuja on February 25, the Minister highlighted the potential of the film industry as an untapped part of the economy.
Lai Mohammed also emphasized that the creative industry is the fastest growing sector of the economy, with $53 million and $51 million generated from film and music, respectively, last year. He stressed the need for more cinema houses and screens to fully realize the industry's potential.
