Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila denies using public funds for mother’s birthday party in Dubai

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabimilla, has refuted claims that he used public funds to host his mother’s birthday celebration in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A significant number of lives have been lost, and many homes and other structures have been torn apart as a result of tornadoes tearing through Nashville and central Tennessee.   At least nine people have been reported dead in four different counties, including Davidson County where Nashville is located, as well as Putnam, Benton, and Wilson counties. Supreme Court dismisses Emeka Ihedioha’s application for review of its judgement on Imo governorship election

The application filed by former Imo state governor, Emeka Ihedioha, seeking for a review of the January 14th judgement that removed him from office and installed Hope Uzodinma as governor of Imo state has been dismissed by the Supreme Court. The dismissal was delivered this afternoon by a panel of judges led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Muhammad Tanko, on the grounds that it lacked merit. However, one of the judges out of the seven-man panel, Chima Chiweze, dissented with the judgement. The Agbowu of Ogbaagba Takes Legal Action against the Oluwo of Iwo for Alleged Assault

Legal action has been initiated by Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Dhikirullahi Akinropo, against the Oluwo of Iwo, Abdulrosheed Akanbi. This is in relation to an alleged assault that occurred during a peace meeting attended by both parties. Agbowu, the aggrieved monarch, is seeking N100 million as damages and N1 million to cover legal expenses. In addition, a perpetual injunction is being requested to restrain Mr. Akanbi and his "agents" from any future assaults. Despite the lawsuit being filed before an Osun State High Court, the assignment of a judge is still pending. Iran has recorded the highest death toll outside China, with 66 deaths.
