First Case of Coronavirus Confirmed in Algeria
Algeria has reported its first case of Coronavirus, making it the latest African country to be affected by the outbreak. The announcement was made by the Algerian Health Ministry.
The Minister of Health, Shamsuddin Shitor, stated that the virus was detected through the country's vigilant monitoring system at all entry points via land, air, and sea.
The confirmed case involves an Italian man who arrived in Algeria on February 17. He has been placed in isolation, and Algerian citizens are urged to be cautious about sharing unverified information online.
Shitor confirmed, "One case was confirmed positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), out of two suspected cases (both) of Italian nationality."
