Supreme Court upholds decision nullifying the election of David Lyon as Governor-elect of Bayelsa state, reaffirms Douye Diri as winner
Reconfirming Douye Diri as the winner of the November 2019 state governorship election, the Supreme Court today maintained its decision nullifying the election of David Lyon as Governor-elect of Bayelsa state.
Regarding the nullification of Lyon and his Deputy, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo on the basis of the latter's use of forged certificates in the election, the apex court made this decision on February 13th.
After the ruling, the APC sought a review of the verdict by the court.
