Alleged Brutalization of NTA Staff by Soldiers in Ondo during Coronavirus Lockdown
A staff member of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has raised allegations of being subjected to brutal treatment by soldiers from the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment in Akure, Ondo State, while enforcing a lockdown directive issued by the state government.
An engineer, who recounted the incident on Ondo Road where both the NTA and the Barracks are situated, claimed that his efforts to explain that he was heading home from work were ignored by the soldiers, even after presenting his ID card.
Mr. Jide Bello indicated his intention to take legal action against the Nigerian Army and the Ondo State government over the alleged harassment, following a 14-day self-isolation period.
