Tragic Loss of Life in Bauchi Market Fire

One person tragically lost their life in a fire outbreak at the Muda Lawan market in Bauchi State.   The fire, which ignited after a truckload of mattresses caught fire on Thursday, April 16, resulted in the destruction of numerous shops and parked cars near the market.   According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Channels TV, the firefighters were met with aggression from angry youths for their delayed arrival in extinguishing the fire. The blaze was eventually brought under control after the firefighters regrouped with a stronger team.   Below are the photos from the scene of the tragic incident:

A Coronavirus patient has been discharged from treatment and isolation by the Enugu State Ministry of Health, after recovering from the disease. The state commissioner for health, Ike Obi who confirmed that the state has two Coronavirus patients, said one of them was discharged after testing negative. Obi also disclosed that the other patient is stable and responding very well to treatment. He added; “We encourage all persons to continue to stay home, maintain hand and respiratory hygiene, wear a facemask in line with the NCDC’s advisory and maintain physical distancing." ```

Following two consecutive negative tests for the virus, two COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the Kwara state Isolation center.   On Thursday April 16, the State Commissioner for Health, Raji Abdulrasaq, announced this positive development on Twitter.
