China denies cover-up as it revises Wuhan’s Coronavirus death toll up by 50 percent
China has increased the official Coronavirus death toll in its city Wuhan by 50%, which supports US President Trump's claim of misleading information about the death figures from the country.
Wuhan, the central Chinese city where the coronavirus first emerged late last year, acknowledged that people died at home and cases were overlooked as hospitals struggled to cope in the early days of the outbreak.
In the revised figures, the Wuhan city government raised the death toll by 1,290, about 50 percent, bringing the total in Wuhan to 3,869 and the number of deaths across China to 4,632.
