Disproving claims of NYSC member contracting Coronavirus in Ondo, Governor Akeredolu clarifies

Rather than a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the third Coronavirus patient in Ondo state has been confirmed as a former NYSC member who served at the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment and was retained after the service year, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has stated, debunking media reports.   In recent online reports, it was erroneously claimed that a medical doctor serving at the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment had tested positive for the virus after coming into contact with the index case.   The governor took to his Twitter handle to counter the claims, affirming that the third case was a former NYSC member who served in the barracks and remained there after completing the service year.
