Judge in rape case removed after asking alleged victim if she 'closed her legs' during assault

A New Jersey Superior Court judge, John F. Russo Jr., has been removed from his position after being involved in several misconduct claims, one of which involved asking a rape victim if she had "closed her legs" during the assault. The New Jersey Supreme Court ordered his removal, and Chief Justice Stuart Rabner made the announcement in a court opinion on May 26. Russo faced a complaint filed in August 2018, alleging four counts of misconduct in the courtroom and for asking personal favors from court staff. This led to his permanent removal from the judicial office in New Jersey. The complaint highlighted an incident where Russo questioned a woman about her attempts to stop a sexual assault after she had described her ordeal in court, a behavior deemed as breaching the public's trust by ...

Woman in Custody for Abducting a 2-Year-Old in Rivers State

An arrest has been made by the Rivers State police command of a middle-aged woman known as Chinyere for allegedly abducting her neighbor's two-year-old child.   The child's disappearance led to the parents raising an alert, and it was a neighbor who saw the suspect leaving the compound with the little girl and then informed the parents and other neighbors.   Following the abduction, the suspect drugged the child and placed her inside a zipped box. She was tracked to a motor park in the state alongside two accomplices, preparing to board a vehicle with the sleeping child inside a box.   Upon being removed from the box at the motor park, it was observed that the child was sweating and in distress.   Chinyere was apprehended together with two men, in connection with the incident that oc...

Washington State Wrestling Coach Termination for Mocking George Floyd’s Killing Sparks Outrage

A Washington state high school wrestling coach has been terminated for mocking the murder of George Floyd by a white Minneapolis police officer.   Dave Hollenbeck, the first-year coach at Bethel High School, posted a photo of himself lying on the ground with a knee to the back of his neck, smiling in a manner resembling the images seen in the viral video of Floyd being pinned down by a white Minneapolis cop, which led to his death.     “Not dead yet. I’m doing this for our police officers, the media is a race baiting machine and I’m tired of it,” Hollenbeck wrote on Facebook. “I’m going to speak out every time, if you don’t like that I’m sorry, but I love all people. Wake up America.”     In an...
