Survivor of 2008 police assault identifies officer Derek Chauvin who knelt on George Floyd’s neck
An individual from Minneapolis has shared his harrowing experience, revealing how he was almost killed by Officer Derek Chauvin in 2008, the same officer involved in the death of George Floyd.
According to Daily Beast, Ira Latrell Toles, 33, recounted how Chauvin forcefully entered his home on May 24, 2008, assaulted him in the bathroom, and subsequently shot him in the stomach.
Upon watching the distressing video of George Floyd's fatal encounter on Tuesday, Toles messaged his sister, suggesting that Chauvin might have been the same cop who shot him years ago.
His sister confirmed the suspicion after viewing the video of Chauvin kneeling on George Floyd's neck for 9 minutes. She recognized him as the officer who had shot Toles in 2008.
