FG impounds UK aircraft for conducting commercial flight despite ban on all flights in the country
The Nigerian government has taken control of an aircraft owned by the UK-based aviation company Flair Air for violating the flight ban in the country.
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, disclosed this information on May 17 through his official Twitter handle. He stated that the aircraft, operated by Flair Aviation, was conducting a commercial flight instead of the approved humanitarian operation in Nigeria. The crew of the flight is currently undergoing interrogation to determine their level of involvement in the offense, and the Minister emphasized that severe penalties will be imposed.
