Breaking News: Fire Engulfs Building and Shops in Ibadan

A devastating fire outbreak has led to the destruction of goods worth millions of Naira in a building and several shops at the Dugbe area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Wednesday, April 15. According to reports, the fire, which erupted around 1:20 pm, decimated a prominent building and a row of shops where mattresses, clothes, household goods, and electronics are purveyed. The state fire service promptly responded to the scene and is currently engaged in efforts to extinguish the flames. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the blaze.

Fire Engulfs Corporate Affairs Commission Headquarters in Abuja

Following the recent fire at the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, the headquarters of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Abuja has also been affected by a fire outbreak.   Located in Maitama District, Abuja, the building caught fire on Wednesday morning, April 15. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Reports indicate that the fire consumed the top floor of the seven-story building, causing damage to valuable items and other possessions.   Upon contacting the spokesperson of the Federal Fire Service, DSF Ugo Huan, it was confirmed that firefighters were en route to the scene.

Nine COVID19 patients discharged in Abuja

The Abuja Isolation Center has recently discharged nine COVID-19 patients who have recovered from the disease. This brings the total number of discharged patients from the center to 20. The FCTA announced this positive development via a tweet on April 15, 2020. Out of the nine newly discharged patients, two were treated at the National Hospital Isolation & Treatment Centre, while the other seven received treatment at the UniAbuja Teaching Hospital Isolation Centre, Gwagwalada. The FCT currently has 58 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
