Students in China Return to School with Unique Social Distancing Measures
Normalcy is gradually returning to life in China following the COVID-19 outbreak.
As schools begin to reopen after a prolonged hiatus, one school in Hangzhou has implemented a creative approach to enforce social distancing – students are wearing DIY hats with 3-foot-long horizontal plumes.
Photos shared by Duke University professor, Eileen Chengyin Chow, depict first graders at Yangzheng Elementary School sitting in a classroom with desks organized in single rows.
The students in the photos are also seen wearing face masks and colorful headgear with extended plumes made from cardboard and, in one case, balloons.
