'NCDC DG Ihekweazu Extends Gratitude to Nigerians for Assistance with Coronavirus Testing Kits'

Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director General of the National Center for Disease Control, (NCDC), expressed his gratitude to Nigerians for helping the agency with Coronavirus testing kits in the midst of battling the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.   Ihekweazu, whose agency reported 1273 confirmed cases and 40 deaths from the virus as of Sunday night, reached out on Sunday for assistance in obtaining the RNA extraction kits required for Covid-19 testing. Coronavirus cases confirmed among Almajiris sent from Kano to Kaduna

Recent repatriation of five almajiris from Kano to Kaduna state resulted in their testing positive for Coronavirus.   Kaduna State's commissioner for Health, Amina Mohammed-Baloni, confirmed the cases. The new patients have been transferred to the Infectious Diseases Control Centre for treatment. This brings the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kaduna state to 9.

Two Chinese nationals arrested for illegal mining in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested two Chinese nationals, Wang and Chu, for their alleged involvement in illegal gold mining at Nasarawa Burkullu village in Kwali, Bukkuyum Local Government Area (LGA). This comes after the Federal government's directive to halt all mining activities in the state was issued on April 7th.
