Rotimi Akeredolu Cancels Decision to Allow Easter Services in Churches in Ondo State
Rotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo state, has reversed his decision to permit churches in the state to hold Easter services on Sunday, April 12th.
Earlier this week, the governor lifted the ban on social gatherings and allowed churches to hold Easter services, provided they strictly adhered to precautionary measures against the spread of COVID-19.
Following the widespread criticism of his decision, the Governor took to his Twitter handle this morning to announce that the services would not proceed.
"I've heard you all and your concerns on the need to #LockDownOndo. I have just concluded a meeting with CAN and we have resolved that the services will not hold again. Thanks for your concerns. Stay blessed and Happy Easter to all."
