Pastor accuses NDLEA officials of wrongfully detaining his wife and their two months baby in Delta (video)

The wife and a two months baby of a Pastor in Delta state were allegedly detained by officials of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA. A clash with a neighbor who the pastor said sells “Indian hemp” led to the incident. The pastor reported the matter to the police, but the neighbor escaped. Later, the pastor's wife and baby were detained by NDLEA officials. The pastor appealed for help to secure the release of his wife and baby. See the video below for more details.

In Lagos, an elderly woman, aged 83, has passed away due to complications arising from COVID-19.   This information was revealed by the state's Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, through a post on his Twitter account earlier today. ''Lagos registered 1 fatality, increasing the total count of #COVID19 related deaths in Lagos to 14. The deceased was an 83-year-old female with underlying health problems. Let’s practice #SocialDistancing and #StayHome to halt the spread of #COVID19 infection,'' he stated.   Lagos continues to be the hotspot of the COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria, with 309 confirmed cases, 109 discharged patients, and 14 fatalities.

Woman, 68, Gives Birth to Twins in Lagos

Twins, a boy and a girl, were delivered to a 68-year-old woman by doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).   Prof. W. L. Adeyemo, the Chairman of LUTH's Medical Advisory Committee, revealed in a statement that the woman, who became pregnant for the first time through In vitro fertilisation (IVF), gave birth to the twins on Tuesday, April 14.     She is recognized as the 'oldest verifiable' first-time mother in Nigeria and Africa.

Yesterday, in the Ogbor Hill area of Aba, Abia State, heavy rainfall caused a sinkhole to emerge in the middle of a road. The sinkhole, which appeared just after Waterside, surprised residents who came out of their homes to witness the dramatic sight. The Lagos State Police Command has described how some operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) came to the aid of a man whose wife was in labour.   The RRS operatives encountered the distressed man at around 3 am in Ikoyi on Friday, April 17.
