CBN lifts suspension on cheque clearing

The Central Bank of Nigeria has lifted the suspension placed on cheque instruments in the Nigerian clearing system, allowing them to pass through the clearing system. According to the CBN's Director of Banking Services Department, Sam Okojere, the temporary suspension was lifted to enhance payment efficiency for customers and further the development of a safe and efficient payment system in Nigeria. Confirming new cases of Coronavirus, 64 have been recorded across 5 Nigerian states namely; Gombe, Taraba, Borno, Lagos, and Abuja.    The distribution of new cases among the states is as follows; 34 in Lagos, 15 in FCT, 11 in Borno, 2 in Taraba, and 2 in Gombe.    As of 11:20 PM on Monday, April 27, there are 1337 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria. Out of these, 255 patients have recovered, and 40 deaths have been recorded.

President Buhari imposes 8pm to 6am curfew nationwide beginning from May 4th
