China imposes restriction on research on origin of Coronavirus
Research on the origins of the novel Coronavirus is now subject to additional scrutiny and approval by central government officials in China. The Central Government has directed that academic work related to the Coronavirus must undergo extra vetting before being submitted for publication, as stated in now-deleted notices from two Chinese universities.
The Ministry of Education's science and technology department has emphasized that "academic papers about tracing the origin of the virus must be strictly and tightly managed."
