The Minister of Health in Nigeria, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, stated that he is not aware if frontline medical doctors treating patients with COVID-19 in Nigeria are receiving hazard allowance. He made this disclosure during a meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly on April 9. When asked by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbahabiamila, if the frontline medical doctors are receiving hazard allowance for their work, the Minister responded, "I am not aware of it. It is a standard job they do every day." Nigerian doctors have long expressed dissatisfaction with the N5000 hazard allowance they are entitled to, which they claim is often not paid to them. COVID 19: Lagos state government commences house to house search for infected persons

The Lagos State Government has initiated a house-to-house search for individuals infected with COVID-19 in the state.   Professor Akin Abayomi, the state Commissioner for Health, made this known during a joint Press briefing on COVID-19 intervention held in Alausa, Ikeja on Thursday, April 9. NCDC announced 14 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, apologizes for wrong result in Bauchi

The Nigeria Center of Disease Control NCDC last night announced 14 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.   Of the 14 new cases, 13 were recorded in Lagos while one in Delta. The agency also used the opportunity to apologise for the wrong result it released for Bauchi state on Wednesday.
