Acclaimed Actor Irrfan Khan Passes Away at 53

Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, known for his roles in international hits such as Slumdog Millionaire, Jurassic World, and Life of Pi, has passed away at the age of 53.   On Wednesday, April 29, Irrfan succumbed to a medical complication arising from colon infection after a prolonged battle, as confirmed by his spokesperson in an official statement. He was undergoing treatment at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai at the time of his passing.   Irrfan is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikder, and sons Babil and Ayan.   In 2018, Irrfan disclosed on Twitter that he had been diagnosed with an endocrine tumour, a rare illness affecting hormone-releasing cells in the bloodstream. 3 local governments placed on lockdown in Jigawa State after it recorded new cases of Coronavirus

The emergence of new cases of Coronavirus has led to the enforcement of a lockdown in three local governments in Jigawa State. Governor Badaru Abubakar announced the lockdown following the confirmation of two new cases of the virus. One of the new cases is from Gujungu town in Taura local government, while the other is from Birninkudu local government but works in Gumel local government. The index case that was transferred from the state to Kano has tested negative and will only be discharged after testing negative for the second time. Paulo Dybala, Juventus Star, Reports 4th Positive Coronavirus Test in 6 Weeks

Kaduna state government relaxes lockdown order amid Coronavirus pandemic

The lockdown order in Kaduna state has been relaxed by the state government amid the Coronavirus pandemic. The governor, Nasir El-Rufai, announced the relaxation of the restriction of movement in the state through his official Twitter handle. The relaxation allows for movement from 8am to 6pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays, commencing from April 29. Residents wearing face masks are permitted to visit pharmacies, shops, and food markets for restocking. Both traders and customers are required to wear face masks and adhere to social distancing measures. COVID-19 Update: 195 New Cases in Nigeria, with 80 in Lagos

Reports indicate 195 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.   80 of the new cases were confirmed in Lagos, 38 in Kano, 15 in Ogun, 15 in Bauchi, 11 in Borno, 10 in Gombe, 9 in Sokoto, 5 in Edo, 5 in Jigawa, 2 in Zamfara, 1 in Rivers, 1 in Enugu, 1 in Delta, 1 in FCT, and 1 in Nasarawa State, according to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).    The latest figures as of 11:50pm on April 28th indicate a total of 1532 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, with 255 recoveries and 44 deaths.
