Another Nigerian doctor dies of Coronavirus in the UK

The UK experiences the loss of another Nigerian doctor to Coronavirus. Dr. Edmond Adefolu Adedeji, aged 62, who was working at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, passed away on April 9. This Nigerian doctor had recently taken up a post as a locum registrar in the Emergency Department at the hospital in 2019, after having worked for years at London’s St Mary’s Accident and Emergency. In a tribute, the deceased's family expressed their gratitude for his life and his commitment to serving others. They also expressed their appreciation for the care provided by his colleagues during his final days. Dr. Adedeji leaves behind a wife, three children, and three grandchildren. Another person has succumbed to COVID-19 in Lagos state.   According to the state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, the patient passed away in a private hospital, as announced on his Twitter handle on April 11.   This unfortunate incident brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the state to 4.
