Oyo NUJ calls on Tinubu to address ongoing fuel scarcity

Suggestions have come from the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Federal Government to provide lasting solutions to the persistent fuel scarcity in the nation.

This request was made by the union on Monday. Reports from NewsNow revealed that in certain areas of Ibadan, the state capital, petrol was being sold for between N700 and N820 per litre on Monday.

In a statement endorsed by its Chairman, Comrade Ademola Babalola, and shared with NewsNow by the union’s Secretary, Comrade Olusola Oladapo, NUJ advised Tinubu to promptly tackle the issue.

The union expressed their concern that many Nigerians are enduring hardship due to the fuel scarcity.

“Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) strongly condemns the prolonged petrol scarcity in Ibadan and other regions of the state, causing immense suffering for residents,” the NUJ chairman emphasized.

The NUJ chairman also urged the government to find a permanent resolution to the recurrent fuel scarcity and price surges, labeling them as significant obstacles to the state and country’s economic progress.”
