Owen Hargreaves praises Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsi for impressive display in UCL match against Napoli

In the latest Champions League clash between Barcelona and Napoli, former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves commended Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi for his standout performance.

After a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Italy, Barcelona secured a 3-1 victory in the return leg with goals from Fermin Lopez, Joao Cancelo, and Robert Lewandowski to advance to the quarter-finals.

Cubarsi, making his debut in the competition at just 17 years old, delivered an exceptional display, particularly in his marking of Victor Osimhen.

“Cubarsi was the standout player of the match,” said Hargreaves. “He showcased great passing ability and made it look effortless.

“Being able to match Osimhen physically as a Spanish center-back is quite rare, but he did it convincingly. His awareness and overall performance at the age of 17 in his first start were simply outstanding,” Hargreaves added during his post-match analysis for TNT Sports.
