Over 90 Rice Farmers Empowered by FMA and Abia ADP

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Abia State Agriculture Development Project, yesterday, distributed improved rice seeds and fertilizer to over 90 rice farmers in the state.

The ministry and the project had previously provided training to the farmers on climate-resistance practices in yam, cassava, and rice production.

The project’s acting manager, Nnenna Uche, handed over the items to the farmers in Umuahia, the state capital, stating that the goal was to enhance crop yield in the state.

She advised the farmers to make efficient use of the items to improve their livelihoods and praised the ministry for collaborating with the project to train and empower farmers in the state.

Uche also expressed gratitude towards Governor Alex Otti for entrusting her with the project’s name and assured that the project would successfully fulfill its mandate under her leadership.

In response, beneficiaries Victoria Nathaniel, Eric Evulobi, and Moses Chikere expressed their commitment to making proper use of the items.

They also commended the ministry and the project for the training, noting that it had expanded their knowledge of modern rice farming.
