Over 10,000 Customers in Ogun State Benefit from Enhanced Electricity Service by IBEDC

An important upgrade to the electricity infrastructure supporting the Sango/Ota area in Ogun State, Nigeria has been completed by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc. The company revealed this development in a statement released to PUNCH Online by IBEDC’s spokesperson, Busolami Tunwase, on Wednesday. The enhancement is expected to greatly enhance the reliability of power supply for customers in the region.

Among the notable improvements is the successful upgrade of the SANGO 33KV feeder to a more resilient T3 100MVA, 132KV/33KV transformer at the Ota Transmission Station. Moreover, IBEDC has introduced a new dedicated ROTOCROWN 33KV feeder to better serve the area.

The statement mentioned, “These enhancements have been introduced to meet the growing electricity requirements and ensure better service quality for the more than 10,241 IBEDC customers.”

IBEDC indicated that the upgraded transformers at the Ota Transmission Station now support three vital feeders: ROTOCROWN 33KV, TOWER ALLOY 33KV, and SANGO 33KV.

The company highlighted, “These enhancements will enable IBEDC to address the rising energy demands in the region and deliver consistent electricity supply to various communities. Notable beneficiaries of the improved Sango 33KV feeder include residents of Alishiba, Ilogbo, Bayo Block, Animashaun, and Ewupe.”

It was revealed that these enhancements are expected to improve the standard of living for residents and businesses in these areas by ensuring a more reliable and stable electricity supply.

In the statement, the Acting Managing Director of IBEDC, Francis Agoha, stressed the company’s focus on service excellence and infrastructure development.

“This upgrade highlights our commitment to enhancing the electricity infrastructure within our operational areas.

“The expanded transformer capacity at the Ota Transmission Station will empower us to meet the increasing energy demands and deliver a more reliable and stable power supply to our customers in Sango/Ota,” stated Agoha.

“These recent enhancements form part of a broader strategy to modernize the power distribution network and improve overall customer satisfaction. Our continuous investment in infrastructure ensures IBEDC’s capability to deliver top-tier electricity services to its customers,” the statement concluded.
