Osun State’s Investment of N2bn in 267 Micro Projects

Funmi Abokede, the General Manager of the Community and Social Development Agency in Osun State, revealed on Wednesday that the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke has allocated approximately N2 billion towards 267 micro-projects throughout the state.

During a two-day media engagement event organized by the agency, Abokede highlighted the accomplishments of the CSDA under her leadership.

She emphasized that Governor Adeleke’s commitment to meeting the basic infrastructural needs of rural residents in the state was the driving force behind the funding for these projects.

According to Abokede, “Governor Ademola Adeleke has consistently provided strong support for the implementation of micro-projects spread across the state. An estimated N2 billion has been expended on over 267 micro-projects statewide. Notable among these projects is the construction of a Development Center for People with Disabilities.”

Highlighting Osun’s unique initiatives, she added, “Osun is the sole state in Nigeria with a dedicated Center for People with Disabilities, which is located in Edunabon. Several states have visited Osun to emulate this model.”

Abokede mentioned that other projects included the provision of clean water, healthcare facilities, and classrooms in various areas. She urged the communities benefiting from these initiatives to prioritize the maintenance of the projects and called on the state government to allocate more funds to the agency for the implementation of additional micro-projects in rural regions.
