The occurrence of two cases of Lassa fever in Osun State has been confirmed by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu, and the Special Adviser to the governor on Public Health, Dr. Olasiji Olamiju. According to the cabinet members, measures have been implemented to control the spread of the disease. They emphasized that efforts are being made to contain the outbreak and informed that the affected individuals are receiving medical care at Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife and Ilesa.
