Warning from Osun State Police: Avoid Covering Vehicle Number Plates

In Osun State, covering of vehicle number plates is strictly prohibited, with the police emphasizing that offenders will face arrest and prosecution.

The cautionary statement was conveyed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, during the display of suspected criminals in Osogbo on Friday.

Opalola specified that the only individuals exempted from this rule are the state Governor, Deputy Governor, and Speaker of the House of Assembly.

She articulated, “We are sending a clear message to vehicle owners to refrain from obstructing their number plates. The police will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone found violating this directive.

“If there is no illicit intent, why hide your number plate?

“Only the Governor, Deputy Governor, and Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly are exceptions to this regulation.

“Anyone contrary to these positions will be apprehended and must confront the consequences dictated by the law.”
