Osogbo Action Council denies allegations of expansionist tendencies by Ataoja

In response to the allegations made by the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba AbdulRasheed Ayorinde Olabomi, claiming that the Ataoja of Osogbo land, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, harbors expansionist tendencies, the Osogbo indigenes have come forward to deny these claims.

The Osogbo Action Council (OAC) released a statement dismissing the allegations, emphasizing the peaceful nature of Osogbo and its people. The statement, issued in Osogbo, refuted the claims made by Oba Olabomi and stressed that Osogbo has always been known for its peaceful coexistence and good relations with neighboring communities.

The chairman of OAC, Ajadi Badmus, reiterated the commitment of Osogbo to peaceful coexistence and good neighborliness, emphasizing that the town and its people are not characterized by greed or expansionist ambitions.

The statement also highlighted the historical and cultural significance of the Osogbo monarch, assuring that avenues are being explored to resolve the issues between Osogbo and Iragbiji. It appealed for calm and unity between the indigenes of both towns, emphasizing the shared familial and communal bonds.

The statement concluded by affirming Osogbo’s dedication to pursuing peace and love, underlining the detrimental effects of the crisis on both communities.
