Oscar-winning actor Timothy Hutton has rebutted claims by a former Canadian model, Sera Johnston, asserting that he raped her when she was 14, and that he was accompanied by a friend during the assault.

Sera Johnston alleges that Hutton, who received the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for the movie ‘Ordinary People’ in 1981, sexually assaulted her in 1983, a claim vehemently refuted by Hutton.

“It was like we were entertaining them – cute,” Johnston told BuzzFeed News.

“We were funny, you know what I mean.”

Johnston claimed that Hutton sat down next to her and started getting uncomfortably close, touching her legs despite her discomfort. She voiced her apprehensions to BuzzFeed, expressing her initial misgivings about the situation.

Johnston, who was encouraged by the #meToo movement to step forward, recounted telling Hutton, “I don’t think this is a good idea,” and “I don’t think my mother would be too happy about this.” Allegedly, Hutton reassured her that everything would be fine, insisting that she would enjoy it and that his friend would watch.

According to Johnston, who was 24 at the time, Hutton proceeded to kiss her neck, undress her despite her objections and informed her that she would like it, and that his friend would watch.

“It hurt like hell,” she told BuzzFeed. “I mean, it was very painful. God. Yeah, it was extremely painful. Horrible, horrible, absolutely horrible.”

In response, Hutton denied the allegations, claiming in a statement to Deadline that he has been subjected to multiple extortion attempts by Johnston.

“She threatened that if I did not meet her demands, she would go to the press with a false allegation that I sexually assaulted her 37 years ago in Canada.”

“BuzzFeed knew the truth because they were provided with documented evidence,” he added. “I will not stop fighting to expose this story for what it is – a failed extortion attempt based on something that never happened.”
