Oluwo of Iwo suspended for six months

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has received a six-month suspension from the Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council. This action comes in the wake of an alleged attack by the monarch on the Agbowu of Ogbagbaa, Oba Dhirulahi Akinropo, during a peace meeting aimed at resolving a land dispute among the monarchs on February 14th. The council has also established a committee led by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, to conduct further investigation into the issues involving Oluwo and the other Obas in Iwo land. This decision was made at an emergency meeting of the royal fathers, which took place at the Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, and was overseen by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
