Oluwo of Iwo extends condolences to Iwo Muslim community following the demise of Chief Imam


In the wake of the passing of the Chief Imam of Iwoland, Sheik AbdulFatahi Olododo, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting its significant impact on the Muslim Community in Yorubaland.

Oba Akanbi conveyed his sympathies to the Fojugbagi compound of Iwoland, Oluwo Central Mosque, and the broader Muslim Community of Yorubaland in this period of mourning for the late Islamic leader.

He lauded the late Imam as a true representation of Islam in Yorubaland, emphasizing his pivotal role in maintaining Iwo’s esteemed position in Islamic history.

Emphasizing the adherence to fairness in Islamic teachings, Oluwo remarked on how this principle played a crucial role in the selection of Olododo as the Chief Imam.

In a statement released by his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, on Friday in Iwo, the monarch affirmed his commitment to upholding honor in overseeing mosque affairs.

Reflecting on the loss, Oluwo stated, “The passing of the Chief Imam of Iwoland, Sheik AbdulFatahi Olododo, grieves me deeply. It is a significant loss to the Islamic community. My heartfelt condolences go out to Oluwo Central Mosque, Fojugbagi Compound, Iwoland, and the entire Muslim Community in Yorubaland.

“Iwo holds a distinctive Islamic heritage. During Olododo’s tenure, he steadfastly upheld the Islamic legacy of Iwo. He embodied the true essence of Islam.

“His appointment as Chief Imam was grounded in fairness. Despite opposition, I stood by the truth. I remain committed to upholding honor in all appointments.

“May God forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljana Firdaus.”
