Olanrewaju Yemi: Enyimba Footballers Still Feeling Impact of Rangers Loss

The head coach of Enyimba, Olanrewaju Yemi, believes that his team’s mental recovery from the outcome of their recent match against Rangers is still ongoing.

During the Oriental derby clash, Enyimba fans caused a disruption when the hosts were awarded a late penalty.

Subsequently, the Nigeria Premier Football League awarded the match to Rangers.

Since the encounter with Rangers, Enyimba has experienced one draw and one defeat in their last two games.

As a result, the People’s Elephant has lost ground in the title race.

Reflecting on the recent performances, Yemi shared with the club’s media, “The past two games have been quite challenging.”

He added, “The aftermath of the Rangers game has been disheartening as our mental recovery has been slow.”

“We are currently facing struggles, and this is a situation that does not sit well with me,” Yemi expressed.

In reference to the match against Sporting Lagos, Yemi remarked, “It was a lackluster performance from the players, and our performance did not warrant a victory.”
